Rework of 800 Electrical Engines (150-250 kg) Due to Oil Leakage

Background

The rework was conducted at the client’s plant and focused on 800 electrical engines weighing between 150 and 250 kg each, which were experiencing oil leakage issues. The project involved providing a comprehensive logistics service, including daily transportation with a 24-ton truck, for a client in Hungary.

Place of service

Hungary, 700m2 external warehouse with alarm system, full security guarding, entering and camera system

The Challenge

The primary challenge was to efficiently rework 800 electrical engines that were suffering from oil leakage. Each engine required a detailed rework process that took approximately 2.5 hours. The project demanded not only technical expertise but also flawless logistics and coordination to ensure the engines were reworked and returned to the client without any operational delays.

The Solution

To address the challenge, a dedicated team was assembled, including experienced managers, engineers, highly qualified coordinators, and controllers. The team was responsible for overseeing the entire rework process, ensuring that each engine was repaired to meet the highest standards. The logistics component was critical, involving daily transportation of engines with a 24-ton truck to and from the external warehouse.

A 700 m² external warehouse was set up, equipped with an advanced alarm system, full security guarding, access control, and a camera system to ensure the safety and security of the engines during the rework process. The facility was used for storing the engines and staging them for rework, with careful monitoring to prevent any mishandling.

The project was successfully completed with all 800 electrical engines reworked to the client’s satisfaction. The strategic coordination of logistics, security, and technical rework operations ensured that the engines were returned to the client in optimal condition, ready for use without any further issues. This case highlights the importance of an integrated approach to rework projects, where logistics, technical expertise, and quality assurance work seamlessly together to achieve the desired outcomes.
